Final round (leg7) of the Race to Nigeria masters (Pro/Am) tournament

7th leg race to Nigeria masters: U. Anoruo breaks tie and emerge as winner of the tournament.

Anoruo proved himself and dusted his very strong contender to make a cut. It’s the final round of the 7th Leg of the Race to Nigeria Masters and 6 golfers battled but just 4 of them was lucky enough to make a cut.

With the cumulative of 290 with +2 after 72 holes; U. Anoruo broke tie with D. Ali to be the first place on the leaderboard. His game play in the final round started with a par, bogey in 2nd, 3rd, par in 4th, 5th, bogey in hole 6th, par in 7th, 8th and eventually finishing the front nine with a birdie to make 37. With a birdie in 10th, 11th, 12th, par in 13th, bogey in 14th & 15th, birdie in 16th hole and 17th & 18th hole being a par saw him coming in with 35 finishing the round with a course par (72).


“I’m excited that I was able to break the tie to be the first on the board, words can’t express how much happy I am to have made a cut after weeks of not winning." Anoruo said in a media chat with the africantour correspondent.

 

Coming close in second place is another optimistic golfer; D. Ali, who was tying with Anoruo at the top of the board yesterday but faltered today. His game ended with a cumulative of 293 with +5 after 72 holes which made him make cut. His game play in the final round saw him coming in with 3 over par (75).

In a media chat, the player seemed very happy to have made cut and promised himself to do better in the next tournament.

Also, G. Inalegwu and J. Moses having battled through the final round made cut. Inalegwu with the cumulative of 295 with +7 while Moses on the other hand had 300 with +12 after they both completed 72 holes.
